Frequently asked questions

What belongs in «miscellaneous»?
Personal, family and household items that can be transported together: clothes, shoes, bed and household linen, cutlery, crockery and cookware (non-electric), soap, shampoo and hygiene products, nappies, non-perishable food such as rice, beans, pasta, coffee, sugar and tins, plus jewellery, perfume, school and office supplies. Tools, electrical and electronic devices, lithium batteries, power stations and e-scooters or e-bikes do not belong here. A parcel should be mixed – not just one kind of goods.
Which weight limits apply?
Parcels with food, hygiene or household products and/or medicines may weigh at most 20 kg. For the other «miscellaneous» items – such as clothes, shoes, textiles or kitchen utensils – the limit is 45 kg per parcel.
Can I send medicines?
Please ask us first. Some medicines need a prescription or a permit and are subject to special import rules in Cuba.
What does the 500-point limit mean?
For bestsellers (category 3) what counts is not the weight but the customs value: the total value of a parcel may not exceed 500 points. The points of each item are set by the Gaceta Oficial – we are happy to help you work it out.
What is the Gaceta Oficial?
The official gazette of the Republic of Cuba. It contains the current customs and import rules, such as the value assigned to each item. Before every shipment, check that your parcel respects the current limits – or ask us.
Which dangerous goods do you carry?
Dangerous goods are substances or items that may endanger health, safety or the environment because of their physical, chemical or biological properties – such as batteries, gases or flammable liquids. We deliberately do not accept everything. So please ask us first and declare the contents of your parcel exactly.
What does storage in Cuba cost?
After the notification your parcel stays in the warehouse in Havana for three days free of charge. From the fourth day storage costs CUP 2,500 per day (about CHF 8). So please collect your parcels as soon as you can.
